Happy Birthday Ben!

I can't believe my little boy is 8 years old today!

We celebrated yesterday with his requested meal of home made hamburgers and fries.  mmmm

and of course some gifts.

He wanted a lemon cake.  With a drawing of all of us, similar to one he made and is hanging on the fridge.... so that's just what he got!  =P

Charlotte's Web

My baby finished the book, Charlotte's Web, this evening. 

He started it yesterday.

184 pages.

2 days.


Me:  "So, did you like it?"  (I already knew he did as he couldn't seem to put it down until he was done).

Ben:  "Yes... but it was sad."

Part time Post Master...

of the Rice post office, is mah hubby!

I'm so excited for him, he got the job and will be training all next week.  His normal hours are just on Saturdays.  It opens the door for things in the future if he likes the work, though!

Oops

So on the way home from work yesterday I got a bit too close to the edge of the road and slid off into a ditch.  I gave it a good try to get out on my own, but was very relieved when two kind gentlemen stopped with a tow strap.  They got the truck out on the second try! 

David was worried enough that he actually got up at 4:30am this morning to drive me to work.  The roads were much better today and I am sure that I will be back to driving myself again on Monday.  lol

Wow, can you believe it?  It's not sinkin in for me yet.  But here are a few things I have learned so far this year:

• staying up until midnight is a lot harder than it used to be
• I really don't like black eyed peas
• brown rice can sometimes be impossible to cook
