Pinewood Derby 2011 Pack 965

We got there a bit early, which was good because the weigh in showed Ben's car was quite a bit light.  Some creative ingenuity got the racer real close to the 5oz mark.  Here is the line up as the kids checked in their cars.

There is Ben's, with the yellow number 11 sticker.  That is a $1 coin stuck to the top... there is .50 and some more weights stuck to the bottom.  =)

That is Ben's car in the middle lane getting ready for one of the races.  Each car raced three times (once on each lane) before they had the race off of the top three cars.

Great pic just before the finish line of another race... That's Ben's car about to win it!

He did really well, won two of his three races and came in second on the other.  So did his good friend Alex.  They tied for 4th/ 5th place out of the 23 entrants.  Here the best buds share a celebratory fist bump.

Well done, boys!

It was all very exciting and I am sure next year will be even more fun!

Pinewood derby time

It's that time of year, when all cubscouts and their Dad's break out their mad car designing skills.

David and Ben worked on his car on Sunday, and tonight was the big race.  But, it's already pretty late, blogger is taking forever to load pictures,  and I have to be up early for work... so the rest will have to wait for another post tomorrow!

I know, I'm so mean! 

Snow friend

We get some warm weather with some melting... and then a few more inches of snow.  I am sooo ready for spring, but Ben had some fun with the latest white stuff yesterday.
