David has been doing a lot of work outside. He built a great raised bed for the seeds we have sprouting in the kitchen window right now. It's lined with chicken wire to keep the gophers away from our carrots.
Also been playing with diverting some of the creek into the yard.
It runs into a small pond. And then back out and meets up with the rest of the creek farther out.
There are three cats we have seen around... living in our garage and under the deck. This one decided to overcome his shyness and meet David. Once he found out how good it felt to be scratched on the head... he could not get close enough and climbed on up and was perched on David's shoulder. I didn't get a pic of that unfortunately, because I was in too much of a rush to get the cat to come to me too. lol And then of course the kids got to make friends. We decided to call him or her Honey.

Love the pictures! You have your own fantasy island! It is like a farm out there. All you need are some chickens and you are set. I second the "need" for a goat. I have always wanted one. I love the way they chew!
Sorry Wayne will disagree with goat, they get up on everything!! Cars, etc. lol
Glad you got a cat even if it's an outside one.
Dave is a little worried about your creek being deverted, we can't do that down here. Hope it doesn't matter up there after you have done all that work.
Looks like you are having a great time on your little farm:) see ya soon!!
no one below us has water rights so it should be fine. It's going right back into where it was before anyway. The creek actually disapates pretty quick after leaving our property.
You should be ok. Remember we are surrounded by Indian land, I'm sure that makes a difference. They control everything. They even made all the farmers fence in along the creek so that their cows didn't get into the water.
Wow, great work on the planter boxes. Please grow some 'pukids' (pumpkins) for a Fantasy Island. I should post the photo of Jennifer covered in mud while playing in Fantasy Island and throwing pukids into the water.
Great raised veg bed Dave. Nice water system to it too. The gopher proofing is a good idea. Lots of fun with a creek too, kids and mud and dad are the perfect combo.
Wayne, please post, would love to see the photos:)
Jen, saw your vote for the pictures on Pioneer Woman. Good luck to you. Hope you win and if not you, me!! lol
