Patience is not about how long someone can wait... It's about how well they behave while they wait.

Where's the beach?

Last week after Randa's track practice, the kids and I stopped at the local beach on Lake Roosevelt.  Last summer they went swimming from that platform... actually had to swim out to it.  Now it's high and dry.

These were the markers that separated the swimming area from the rest of the lake.

Wait... there's the water... waayy out there.

 This buoy says "no boats"

A tree that has been trapped at the bottom of the lake for who knows how long.

An old tree stump worn from the water so that it looks more like a sea urchin shell.

I have a few more pics, but blogger is taking forever to upload them tonight.
Another post coming soon!

Truth in Advertising?

Drove down to Spokane on Sunday to meet Dyanne and Dave for lunch.  Saw this sign afterward and had to stop and take a pic to share it.

Spring in the mountains

Spring on Granite Mountain means:

A really, really full pond

A creek so full of runoff water that it's taking over new territory

meandering where ever it wants

What do you do when there is a surplus of water, and newly uncovered dead vegitation?

Burn it, of course

Distance shot of the partially burned back area of our yard.
