Patience is not about how long someone can wait... It's about how well they behave while they wait.

Let's hear it for the Dads!

From what I read, today is the 100th celebration of Father's Day. I think that's pretty cool, and I would like to take a moment to wish all the Dads out there a wonderful Father's Day!

I hope you all get to do something special today. Maybe spend some time with the kiddo(s).

If you are lucky maybe they will make you something with glitter... Even better, maybe they will clean their room.

My gift to David was not making him get up with me at 3:30 in the morning when I got up for work. hahaha..... actually I'm going to make him tacos for dinner, he loves how I make tacos.

The kids made him cards... not sure if there was glitter involved... and I think it would be best not to look too closely at their rooms.

Update... there was definitely a glittery medium utilized. =P

Hyperlink tutorial for blogger

First type out a sentence and include the word that you want to make into your link.

For example "If you consider yourself a Star Wars geek, you should enjoy THIS."

Highlight the word you want to make into a link... I will use the word "THIS" in the above sentence.

While it is highlighted, click the "Link" button at the top of the post window. It is to the left of the Align Left button and looks like a green world with a chain link on it.

Copy the url you want to link to and paste it into the URL section of the hyperlink window.

Click the "OK" button.

Your word should now be a link!

A new niece

I was waiting on this post in hopes of being able to write her name... but I feel silly waiting any longer... we do have a beautiful new niece! She was born on Saturday June 12. Congratulations to the lucky, and I am sure exhausted parents, Emily and Jim. She is going to change your life in so many wonderful and amazing ways.

They have posted some pictures of the little darling to their site and I wish I could be there to scoop her up and cuddle her.

Emily and Jim, this one is for you!:

Fences

Some fences keep things out... some fences keep things in. This one on our land doesn't do either of those things. It is old and the barbed wire extending off of it is tramped down. But I liked the look of it and wanted to share the pic.

BB guns 101

This is what went on during the first day of summer vacation while I was at work.

The cans didn't stand a chance.

Welcome to Wal-Mart

Notice the tell tale blue shirt, tan pants, indispensable box cutter... and of course the name tag. Oh and the smile too, gotta have one of those.

What you don't get to see here is the white apron and hair bonnet... cause that would be just too sexah for this blog.

A look around

This pic from the last post was taken down near the edge of our woods. We drove down in the truck, I got out and snapped some pics near where we parked. The woods extend up the hill behind David and we estimate about 7 of our near 15 acres are there.

Moving from the passenger side of the truck towards the back to get a better vantage point, I snapped a pic looking right toward our neighbors to the West. Those two big pines are on the border.

Then turning a bit again, this is looking out towards the NW corner of our property and road.
Toward the NE you can finally see our house.

I will get a pic looking more East in the near future. But I hope this gives y'all a better idea of what our place looks like.

I'm a lumberjack, and I'm OK!

My man went into our woods today to fell some trees for next winter's firewood.

He was victorious!
Pay no attention to the person in the bushes.

The trees were 87 and 91 feet tall. (Measurements taken after they were on the ground of course). Myranda counted the rings on the tallest one and estimated it was about 57 years old.
