8th grade graduation

Baby girl is growing up.  I can't believe she will be starting high school in the fall.  The Jr High had an 8th grade graduation ceremony for the kids last night.  It was handled similar to real graduation.  The kids walked in in pairs and sat as a group off to the side.  There were speakers:  The Jr High principal, the High School Counselor and the High School student body president.

The Principal called out the kids names and they walked across the stage, shaking her hand and then receiving a certificate stating their completion of 8th grade and moving onto High School.

The kids who earned the President's Outstanding Academic Excellence Award were also acknowledged.  There were I think 7 boys and Myranda was the only girl.  They were given the Award for maintaining above a 3.75 gpa for 5 semesters.

We are so proud of you, Myranda!

8th grade passage

Today Myranda heads off to school where she will give her "8th grade passage presentation".  She will meet with a board of people and present herself and her middle school accomplishments along with her hopes for high school.  They will ask questions and she will wow them with her sparkling personality and witty answers. 

I hope it goes well for her, and I am sure it will.  Can't believe my baby girl is going to high school in the fall.  !!!??!!!
