Patience is not about how long someone can wait... It's about how well they behave while they wait.

no one was hurt

David and Myranda slid off the edge of the "ditch" at the bottom of our road last night after play practice.  They are both fine, but the truck is not.  You can't really tell from this picture, but the incline is probably 60 degrees or so.  Once the tow truck got it pulled out David could see that the front right was pretty damaged and it was undrivable.  =(

I think the stress and lack of sleep last night let the germs I've been fighting off take hold so I had to call in sick to work today as well.

Pretty much not a great day... but I am sooo thankful they were not hurt!

The World According to Ben

Ben's cub scout den had an outing to the police department on Thursday.  One of the things they got to learn about was fingerprinting.  Each scout got to have a card done with their fingerprints... just like a real criminal!  Or just like someone applying for a government job.  ;)

Today I found the card and was looking at my little guys prints... when I noticed that he had filled out the top portion with his name by himself.  *proud*

Wait a minute....

Me: "Ben did you write your name on this card yourself?"

Ben: *blushing* "Yes"

Me: "How did you spell your middle name?.... Wait, did you think your middle name was DING?!"

Ben: *sheepish giggling* "Yes, I did."

Me: !!! "Wait... does that mean you thought Grandpa's name was..."

Ben: "Yeah, Grandpa Ding."

So, David of course had noticed this problem on Thursday after Ben had filled out his name, and they had already had this same conversation.  Say "Ding", and "Dean" out loud and you can surely see how he made the mistake.  Is my little guy not the CUTEST ever!!?

We all had a good giggle out of it and I wanted to share it with everyone to give you all a smile.  But please, no teasing him later, as he was worried when I said I wanted to post this story to the blog.

Halloween 2011

Ben came down with a case of Lycanthropy

Myranda was a Narcoblix... again =P

We passed out candy at the Walmart Trunk or Treat.
Our Hansel and Gretel theme netted us second place.

The kids and I carved the pumpkins.  It was a lot of fun.  We love Halloween and are already throwing around ideas for next years trunk or treat decoration!
